Financial Reporting Contractor
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Contractor for a 3-month contract engagement. This position is based in the Northeast (NE) office and follows a 4/1 hybrid work schedule, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week. The successful candidate will play a key role in the organization's financial reporting function, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and corporate reporting deliverables in accordance with ASPE standards.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Prepare and review financial reporting in accordance with ASPE
- Perform and support consolidation accounting processes
- Prepare annual and interim financial statements, accompanying notes, and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A;)
- Prepare and deliver monthly reporting packages to Head Office
- Prepare and post corporate accounting journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close activities and reporting requirements
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
Your strengths include:
- Post-secondary education and a CPA designation are required
- Proven experience in financial reporting and corporate accounting
- Strong knowledge of ASPE reporting requirements
- Hands-on experience with financial consolidations and the preparation of financial statements
- Experience preparing MD&A; reports and reporting packages for senior management and/or Head Office
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using Oracle Cloud
- Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter, take initiative, and assume ownership of responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
