Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager

Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Primarily Remote within Canada, with up to 15% onsite meetings)

Duration: 247 Business Days with possible extension

Pay Rate: $90 - $110/hr [CAD]

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a portfolio of complex digital transformation, application modernization, regulatory, and IT system implementation initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion, coordinating cross-functional teams, engaging business and technical stakeholders, managing project risks and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered within established scope, timelines, and quality standards. The role will involve Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, CRM/Dynamics modernization, application migrations, system integrations, and complex software development initiatives.

Key Project Experience The Project Manager will support initiatives involving:

- ADX Studio to Microsoft Power Platform/Power Pages and Dataverse migration, including planning, architecture, requirements, workflow development, testing, UAT, change management, and deployment.
- Enterprise application modernization and system enhancements, involving multiple business applications, integrations, data flows, and financial or operational processes.
- Legacy system modernization and automation, including transitioning manual processes to automated, integrated solutions.
- Complex application development and transformation projects involving multiple stakeholders, systems, dependencies, and business requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

Candidates must meet one of the following:

- University degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of Project Management experience; OR
- Two-year diploma in Business, Management, or a related discipline with at least 6 years of Project Management experience; OR
- One-year certificate in Business, Management,



or a related discipline with at least 7 years of Project Management experience; OR
- At least 8 years of Project Management experience.

Required Experience

- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Manager working with ADX Studio and CRM/Dynamics to Power Platform/Power Applications and Dataverse migrations.
- Minimum 8 years of experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Minimum 8 years of experience developing project deliverables, including:
- Project charters
- Business cases
- Briefing notes
- Status reports
- Risk logs
- Project closure documentation
- Project dashboards
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working as a Project Manager on large, complex custom software application development projects, particularly solutions developed in-house for an organization of comparable size and complexity to a large public-sector environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience conducting, facilitating, and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
- 3+ years of experience creating and managing project forecast and actual budgets.
- 3+ years of experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- 3+ years of experience working in or for the public sector.
- 3+ years of experience working on mandated or legislated projects delivered within short timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project charters, business cases, project plans, schedules, status reports, risk logs, dashboards, and closure documentation.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, assumptions,



timelines, dependencies, resources, risks, benefits, and budgets in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining appropriate project governance and priorities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, project sponsors, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
- Manage project schedules, resources, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Track project progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, and resources and take corrective action when required.
- Conduct, facilitate, and interpret risk and impact assessments and develop appropriate recommendations and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and interdependencies, including escalation where appropriate.
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures, including monitoring variances.
- Prepare project documentation and presentations for senior management, steering committees, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings and maintain effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project resources and establish explicit work priorities.
- Collaborate with business and IT leadership to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and organizational objectives.
- Support requirements documentation and the development of recommendations related to resource requirements, dependencies, policies, and project methodologies.
- Work with project sponsors and PMO teams to establish project organization structures, roles, responsibilities, and governance.
- Support change management and project communications activities where required.
- Assess project outcomes upon completion and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure effective project communication throughout the project lifecycle.
