Role Description The Software Engineer in Data Platform role is a full-time remote position focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end components and APIs for data ingestion, transformation, and access, as well as optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and reliability. The role involves writing clean, maintainable code, implementing object-oriented design patterns,



and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into products and internal tools.

The engineer will monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, improve system resilience, and contribute to documentation, testing, and code reviews to ensure high-quality releases.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, preferably in languages commonly used for data platforms (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, or similar).
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including building APIs and services that interact with databases and data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in scalable, modular system design.
- Experience with data platforms or related technologies (e.g., relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, distributed data systems) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools is a plus.
- Ability to write explicit documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
