Role Description This is a full time remote role for a Software Engineer – Java. The person in this role will design, develop, test, and maintain back-end services and APIs using Java and related frameworks. Day-to-day activities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The role also involves optimizing application performance, implementing secure coding practices, and contributing to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

The Software





Engineer will work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver reliable, high-quality software that supports Rockland Tech Hub’s client projects.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming with Java, including experience building production-grade applications.

- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.

- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP principles in designing modular, maintainable code.

- Experience with version control (e.g., Git), build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases and performance optimization techniques.

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to writing secure, reliable, and testable code.
