As part of a team specializing in IBM i applications, the intern will progressively participate in application maintenance, development, and support activities on the AS400 / IBM i platform. They will be supported and mentored by experienced team members to develop their skills in RPG, SQL, and the IBM i ecosystem.

Start Date: January 2027 Application Deadline: September 28th, 2026 CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities

- Analyze and understand existing programs and processes on IBM i.
- Participate in resolving defects and implementing simple application enhancements under supervision.
- Perform targeted development in RPG while following team standards.
- Contribute to unit and functional testing.
- Participate in the analysis and resolution of application incidents.
- Contribute to technical documentation and change tracking.
- Collaborate with development, support, and operations teams.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in programming and algorithms.
- Understanding of relational databases.
- Demonstrated interest in IBM i / AS400 environments and enterprise applications.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork skills and clear communication.
- Motivated to learn specialized technologies.
- Good written and verbal proficiency in French is required for this position.

Desired Skills

- Academic or personal knowledge of RPG / RPGLE.
- Knowledge of SQL or relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of IBM i / AS400 and CL.
- Knowledge of a structured or procedural programming language.
