About the Position

The Edmonton Convention Centre is looking for Stewards to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Steward, the Steward is responsible for cleaning all dishes, glassware, and flatware and storing them in the appropriate areas. This role supports the cleanliness and organization required for the successful delivery of events at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

What You'll Do:

- Collect soiled dishware from halls and meeting rooms.
- Sort dishes according to size and shape, place empty glassware on appropriate racks, and place cutlery in bus pans.
- Confirm all machine parts are in the appropriate positions and water levels are accurate, and ensure all dishes are properly sanitized and polished.
- Maintain a clean workstation by thoroughly rinsing out machines, mopping, and locking the soap room at the end of every shift.
- Ensure all dishes are neatly and safely stored in designated areas.

What You'll Bring:

- Prior dishwashing experience.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with other departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, handle stressful situations appropriately, and perform work that requires extended periods of standing, walking, pushing, heavy lifting, and grasping.
- Knowledge of sanitation controls and the use of cleaning supplies is considered an asset.
- Open availability will be considered an asset.
