IT Systems Analyst (6-Month Contract)

Location: Victoria, BC / Onsite

Project Description:

Our client is looking for an IT Systems Analyst to support the day-to-day administration, monitoring, performance, and optimization of enterprise application platforms and data reporting environments within a complex IT environment.

The successful consultant will work closely with IT Services teams, business stakeholders, and third-party service providers to support production applications, troubleshoot technical issues, contribute to system upgrades and improvements, and help maintain secure, reliable, and well-documented application and reporting services.

This role will also contribute to disaster recovery planning, enterprise architecture standards, application lifecycle management, automation initiatives, and the ongoing improvement of technology services.

Experience and Role Accountabilities

- Support the day-to-day operational monitoring, administration, tuning, and optimization of assigned application platforms to ensure security, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and data reporting consulting for a portfolio of applications, working with internal IT teams and third-party providers to diagnose incidents and identify root causes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend, document, and implement appropriate actions, workarounds, known errors, and change requests.
- Maintain application platform documentation, knowledgebases, procedures, and technical standards.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and the development and maintenance of enterprise architectural standards.




- Review third-party application release notes and assess technical feasibility, risk, and business impact associated with patches, upgrades, and new releases.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders, IT teams, third-party providers, and matrix teams to plan, design, document, and deliver service improvements within the production environment.
- Identify opportunities for automation across application testing, deployment, availability monitoring, and capacity management.
- Research and evaluate new and existing application, reporting, architecture, and technology solutions to ensure they are appropriate for the setting.
- Monitor application roadmaps, security developments, emerging technologies, and industry trends and make recommendations aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and education to stakeholders regarding application platforms and reporting capabilities.

Education and Skills

- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working as an Application Administrator and/or Systems Analyst.
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Addigy, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory,



including Group Policy Objects, domains, and organizational units.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and identity and access management solutions.
- Experience configuring, testing, deploying, and supporting third-party applications and enterprise endpoint/security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, WSUS, Office 365, Ninite Pro, and endpoint protection tools.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with reporting architecture strategies and development.
- Robust analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative IT team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting and troubleshooting endpoint device hardware.
- Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes and practices.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and project management methodologies.
- Experience or knowledge of technology environments within higher education or similarly complex organizations.

Contract Details

- Contract Length: 6 months, with possibility of extension based on business need.
- Location: Victoria, BC.
- Work Arrangement: Onsite.
- Hours: Full-time.
