Lightfox Games is seeking a talented and enthusiastic UX Designer to join our Vancouver based team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher. This role is hybrid out of our Vancouver studio with approximately 50% of time expected in-person. Vancouver-based team members may be asked to travel to our Seattle office once or twice a year for on-sites.

Responsibilities

- Own UX across core game systems — defining flows, wireframes, and interaction models that make complex systems feel intuitive and rewarding
- Partner closely with UI Artists, Game Designers, and Engineers to translate design intent into polished, player-facing experiences
- Conduct and synthesize playtests, user research, and player feedback to drive continuous UX improvement
- Build and maintain UX documentation including flows, wireframes, and interaction guidelines that scale with the team
- Implement first-pass UX in-engine in Unity for playtesting and feedback
- Advocate for the player experience in cross-functional discussions, balancing usability goals with design and business constraints

Requirements

- 3+ years of UX design experience in games,



with at least one shipped mobile title in your portfolio
- Experience designing UX for mobile free-to-play games, including live ops flows, storefronts, and onboarding
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX process — from research and wireframing through final implementation
- Proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design handoff
- Solid understanding of mobile UX conventions, touch interaction patterns, and accessibility considerations
- Proficiency in building UI in Unity
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in small, quick-moving teams

Nice to have

- UI Art skills to help assist in development pipeline speed
- Experience working within an established IP or licensed property
- Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate UX research, prototyping, or documentation workflows

Compensation

CA$95,000 to CA$125,000 depending on experience, plus health/vision/dental coverage, RRSP matching, and equity.
