Introduction
Raymond EMC Enclosures Ltd. (Raymond EMC) is a Canadian-owned leader in secure infrastructure, specializing in custom-engineered electromagnetic compatibility testing solutions, RF shielded systems, and mission-critical facilities. With a reputation for technical quality and precision, the company serves a global client base across defense, government, medical, and aerospace sectors. By maintaining accountability across the full design, fabrication, and installation lifecycle, Raymond EMC has become a trusted partner for organizations operating in highly specialized and high-consequence environments.
The organization is currently experiencing significant growth, having more than doubled in size over the past five years. This success has been built on a foundation of engineering excellence, integrity, and a commitment to delivering solutions that meet the highest standards. With operations consolidated at its current head office in Ottawa and an expanded manufacturing footprint in Vars, Raymond EMC is entering its next phase of growth as it evolves from a successful Canadian engineering-to-order organization into a broader North American enterprise.
As the business continues to grow, the focus remains on protecting the technical expertise, client responsiveness, and entrepreneurial culture that have driven the company’s success.
To support this next stage of growth, Raymond EMC is seeking a Vice President of Operations. This newly created executive role represents a deliberate investment in leadership capability and will help translate the company’s strategic goals into a more mature operating model. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the processes, leadership practices, and organizational structure required to support multi-site operations and cross-border delivery while maintaining the agility and quality that define Raymond EMC.
Summary of the Role
As Vice President of Operations, you will serve as the senior executive responsible for bringing together Engineering, the Project Management Office, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Production into a more integrated business function.
Your focus will be on creating the operational discipline required to consistently deliver client commitments safely, profitably, and predictably while reducing reliance on heroic effort.
A key part of your mandate will be strengthening the management processes that align sales demand, engineering capacity, procurement requirements, production capability, and financial expectations. You will lead the company’s Sales & Operations Planning process, creating greater visibility between project commitments and the resources required to deliver them successfully. This role requires a leader who can improve decision-making, establish an effective operating rhythm, and ensure teams are aligned around shared business priorities.
As Raymond EMC continues to expand, you will help guide the transition from a founder-led Canadian engineering organization into a multi-site business with increasing international reach. This will require building the structures and leadership practices needed to support growth while protecting the quality, responsiveness, and entrepreneurial mindset that have made the company successful. The challenge will be creating greater consistency and accountability without adding unnecessary complexity.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for strengthening the leadership capability across the operations function. Working closely with the executive team, you will mentor and develop leaders while helping the organization identify future constraints and opportunities before they become challenges. By bringing experience from organizations that have successfully navigated growth and complexity,
you will help Raymond EMC continue its evolution while maintaining the culture and values that have shaped the business.
Is This For You?
You are a broad enterprise leader with experience leading complex Engineer-to-Order environments where engineering, manufacturing, procurement, project delivery, and client commitments must operate together. Ideally, you bring an engineering foundation that allows you to engage credibly with technical teams while also thinking beyond a single function or department.
You have successfully helped organizations evolve from founder-led growth into more structured and scalable businesses. Your experience includes leading complex P&Ls;, improving operational performance, and building the processes and leadership capability required to support growth. You understand that successful transformation is not about adding layers of complexity, but about creating the right level of structure to help people and teams perform at their best.
Experience in high-consequence technical sectors such as defense, aerospace, critical infrastructure, or engineered products would be highly valuable. You are comfortable operating in a family-owned business environment where relationships, culture, and long-term thinking are equally important as business performance. You bring strong commercial judgment and the confidence to challenge assumptions while maintaining trust and respect.
Your leadership style is approachable, practical, and grounded. You develop leaders rather than create dependency, building teams that are capable of making decisions and taking ownership. You know how to introduce discipline without losing entrepreneurial agility, and you are motivated by the opportunity to help a successful company build the foundation for its next stage of growth.
You thrive in environments where you are expected to create change, solve complex problems, and make a meaningful impact. You believe in building through sophisticated simplicity rather than unnecessary process, and you are energized by the opportunity to help Raymond EMC expand its capabilities while protecting the culture that has made it successful.
