On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for an Intermediate Cloud Systems Engineer: Azure Automation & IaC to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Richmond, BC.

Summary of the Role

Our Client is seeking an Intermediate Cloud Systems Engineer to support the design, automation, and operation of enterprise cloud infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on Microsoft Azure services, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform management while contributing to cloud adoption initiatives, architecture reviews, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related automation tools.
- Build and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using Classic and YAML pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and operational processes using Ansible, PowerShell, and scripting.
- Support cloud services including compute, storage, networking, application services, gateways, and disaster recovery.
- Participate in cloud architecture reviews, technology adoption initiatives, and roadmap planning.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide operational support.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation.

Core Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure design and support or software development, including at least 2 years working with cloud technologies.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud solutions or equivalent AWS/GCP experience transferable to Azure.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
- Experience with Ansible, PowerShell,



shell scripting, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Desired Skills & Experience

- Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux environments, including security patching.
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized workloads.
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and practices.
- Experience supporting highly available, resilient cloud infrastructure.

Terms

This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Richmond, BC. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement requiring three days per week onsite. A background check and skilled reference checks will be required at the offer stage. Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
