Support the OYA Black Arts Coalition as an Events and Programs Assistant in Toronto. This short-term, in office role focuses on event planning and community engagement over 15 weeks.
This position is ideal for a student passionate about event coordination within the arts sector. Working under the Manager of Community & Partnerships, you will assist in scheduling, logistics, and delivery of workshops, networking events, and community initiatives. The role offers valuable experience in a mission-driven organization committed to empowering Black talent in the screen media sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with in-person, virtual, and hybrid event planning
• Develop event timelines and planning documents
• Coordinate logistics including venues and supplies
• Communicate effectively with speakers and partners
• Manage registrations and participant inquiries
Requirements:
• Interest in event planning and community engagement
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficient with spreadsheets and digital tools
• Available for occasional evening or weekend events
