THE****OPPORTUNITY The Student Regulation and Engagement (SRE) Lead is a key system leadership position responsible for advancing inclusive, equitable, and trauma-informed learning environments across the Board. Reporting through Instructional Services, this role provides strategic leadership, clinical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure that behavioural support practices align with Board priorities, Ministry of Education directives, and evidence-based best practices.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and system-wide influence, the SRE Lead is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of behaviour support programs and services for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This position plays a critical role in advancing student well-being, engagement, achievement, and inclusion through leadership in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavioral Interventions Supports (PBIS), trauma-informed practices, and compliance with Ministry mandates, including Policy/Program Memorandum (PPM)140.

The SRE Lead provides leadership and mentorship to specialized staff, including SRE Coaches and Group Facilitators, while working collaboratively with school administrators, multidisciplinary teams, families, community partners, and external agencies to support students with complex behavioural, social-emotional, and self-regulation needs.

KEY****RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide system leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioural support programs and services across the Board.
- Deliver and oversee Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and/or Behaviour Management training





programs, ensuring alignment with trauma-informed, ethical, and evidence-based practices.
- Build capacity among Principals, Vice-Principals, Teachers, Learning Resource Teachers (LRTs), Educational Assistants (EAs), and interdisciplinary teams through coaching, mentoring, and consultation
- Design and facilitate Board-wide professional learning related to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), trauma-informed care, self-regulation, and inclusive education
- Collaborate with school teams, Board leadership, clinicians, families, and community agencies to support students with complex behavioural and regulatory needs
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of Board procedures, protocols, and practices related to behaviour intervention, student regulation and inclusive learning environments
- Monitor the effectiveness and fidelity of ABA, PBIS, and related initiatives through data informed decision-making and continuous improvement processes
- Conduct and oversee behavioural assessments and contribute to individualized intervention planning
- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of Behaviour Support Plans, Safety plans, and skill-based intervention strategies using evidence-informed approaches
- Stay current with emerging research, legislative requirements, and sector innovations, integrating best practices into system-level supports and programming
- Manage designated budget responsibility and pursue grant and funding opportunities to enhance student support and services
- Serve as a key liaison among school administrators, clinical professionals, Board staff, families, and community partners to coordinate comprehensive student supports

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or related field required
- Demonstrated experience providing ABA services, preferably supporting children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other exceptional learning needs
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with complex behavioural, social-economical, and self-regulation needs within educational or clinical settings
- Formal training and demonstrated application of ABA principles and evidence-based behavioural interventions
- Proven experience designing and facilitating professional learning and adult learning initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Ontario's elementary and secondary education systems, special education frameworks,



and Ministry of Education policies and directives
- Comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practices, equity and inclusion principles, Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and student mental health promotion
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior administration, school-based teams, families, community partners, and external agencies
- Demonstrated ability to lead system-wide initiatives, influence change, and support the continuous improvement of student outcomes
