Applications Specialist

At Angstrom Engineering, we develop products and services focused on supporting the nanotechnology community. Our products include a broad range of thin film deposition machinery, which we design and manufacture. We also offer process development and deposition services.

We work closely with our high-tech clients to help them apply nanotechnology to pioneer important developments in quantum computing, solar panels, energy storage, semiconductors, OLEDs, optical coatings, medical/biological sensors, and much more.

OVERVIEW:

Angstrom Engineering is seeking an energetic and passionate individual to provide our customers with technical information and customized proposals to meet their specific process requirements. You will gain intimate knowledge of the equipment used to push the boundaries at the forefront of nanotechnology.

This full-time role is an office position at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario with flexible work hours. The successful candidate will become an essential member of our team and will report to the Applications Engineering Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proposals and Budgeting

- Develop detailed proposals and define project scopes
- Prepare detailed estimates of project material costs and labour costs

Sales and Relationship Building

- Represent and promote Angstrom Engineering to customers
- Provide sales presentations to clients
- Create and manage customer and industry relationships




- Balance customer requests with Angstrom’s commercial, technical, and operational requirements
- Lead commercial discussions with customer procurement teams
- Measure and provide feedback on customer satisfaction

Marketing

- Learn from our customers and share this information internally to help improve Angstrom’s products and services
- Monitor market competition and look for new opportunities

Technical Knowledge
- Become an expert on Angstrom’s products and services
- Stay current on customer applications and industry developments
- Work with technical staff to meet customer specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within Angstrom Engineering
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Support special projects in areas of engineering, sales, and marketing as required

QUALIFICATIONS OVERVIEW:

- A post-secondary diploma or degree in science, engineering, or applied science
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Robust mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Sales and/or customer service experience will be considered a strong asset
- Ability to work and grow independently
- Ability to solve technical problems




- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Experience working with CRM and ERP software will be considered an asset
- Creativity, teamwork, and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with industry partners and customers according to deadlines
- Must be able to travel internationally on an occasional basis

PAY RANGE:

$30 - $65/hour The listed pay range represents the expected compensation for this position. Individual pay will be determined by factors such as job‑related skills, applicable experience, and relevant education and training.
