Dilawri Group in Ontario is actively seeking an Apprentice Automotive Technician to join the opening team at Kia Vaughan.

Pay Range: $19.00–$25.00 per hour

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Apprentice Automotive Technician will work alongside licensed technicians to perform vehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. The successful candidate will receive practical experience and ongoing training while progressing toward their Automotive Service Technician certification.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor mechanical repairs under the direction of a licensed Automotive Service Technician.
- Assist licensed technicians with diagnostics, repairs,



and other technical work as required.
- Inspect assigned vehicles to identify additional maintenance, repair, or safety-related concerns.
- Communicate identified concerns to the supervising technician or Service Advisor before completing additional work.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within established timelines.
- Road-test vehicles as required and when authorized.
- Review and follow repair orders, manufacturer procedures, and dealership quality standards.
- Stay current on manufacturer technical service bulletins, service procedures, and required training.
- Properly identify, tag, and store replaced parts for warranty claims or customer requests.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Keep tools, equipment, work bays, and shared service areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Restock supplies and assist with maintaining an efficient Service Department.
- Properly use and care for dealership tools, equipment, and customer vehicles.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, Service Advisors, and other dealership team members.
- Perform other duties required to support Service Department operations.

Qualifications

- Registered Automotive Service Technician apprentice or actively working toward apprenticeship registration.
- Previous automotive service, repair, or dealership experience is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.




- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and required technical training.
- Willingness to participate in Kia and dealership-specific training programs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with at least three years of licensed driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Must provide and maintain the tools required for the position.
