About the Firm
Noam Hazan Design Studio is a growing Toronto architecture and interiors practice working across a broad range of residential projects: custom homes, renovations and additions, multiplexes, garden and laneway suites, and purpose-built rental housing.
Missing middle housing is a core focus of our work. We combine thoughtful design with practical knowledge of planning, approvals, and construction to create well-designed homes and unlock the potential of urban sites.
As our company grows, we offer meaningful career growth potential, with opportunities to take on greater project responsibility, develop leadership skills, and help shape the studio’s future.
About the Role
We are looking for an Intermediate Architect or Architectural Technologist who can combine strong residential design skills with confident technical delivery. Working closely with the principal, you will contribute to projects from early feasibility and concept design through approvals, construction documentation, and construction administration.
This role suits someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow with an ambitious practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop designs for a range of residential building types, from custom homes to multi-unit housing.
- Prepare zoning reviews, feasibility studies, massing studies, and residential layouts.
- Produce clear, coordinated Revit models and drawing packages for design presentations, planning approvals, building permits, and construction.
- Prepare documentation for Committee of Adjustment and other municipal submissions.
- Apply building code and zoning requirements throughout project development.
- Develop construction details with attention to buildability, performance, materials, and design intent.
- Coordinate with consultants, municipal reviewers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Support construction administration, including site reviews, shop drawing reviews, and responses to contractor queries.
- Manage project tasks and deadlines while maintaining consistent documentation quality.
Additional Assets
- Experience with Toronto’s missing middle housing, multiplexes, garden suites, or laneway suites.
- Experience with Part 9 & Part 3 buildings and purpose-built rental housing.
- Experience managing projects through municipal approvals and construction.
To Apply
Please submit your résumé and portfolio, clearly outlining your Canadian experience, software proficiency, and individual contribution to each project. Include residential design examples and technical drawings demonstrating your permit and construction documentation skills.
- PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY. APPLICANTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF THEY DO NOT MEET THE CRITERIA.
