Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Service is looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our team as an Automotive Shop Hand / Detailing Apprentice. We are an automotive garage which means we offer a wide range of vehicle maintenance and car repair services that help prolong the life of your vehicle. We work with many fleet customers and can service vehicles including but not limited to light and heavy-duty vehicles, transports, motorhomes, motorcycles, and select hot rods.

This is an entry-level position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time Automotive Detailer role for the right person. You’ll work alongside our team helping keep customer vehicles, shop areas, and fleet vehicles clean and maintained while learning professional automotive detailing techniques.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with interior automotive detailing, including:
- Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, mats and upholstery
- Cleaning dashboards, consoles, door panels and other interior surfaces
- Cleaning windows and interior glass
- Shampooing and extracting carpets and upholstery as required
- Removing stains, dirt and debris
- Wash and maintain customer and fleet vehicles




- Assist with exterior vehicle cleaning and washing when required
- Keep the detailing area, shop and equipment clean and organized
- Help maintain company and fleet vehicles
- Assist technicians and other shop staff with general shop tasks
- Move vehicles around the property safely
- Properly use and maintain detailing equipment, tools and cleaning products
- Follow all shop safety procedures
- Provide a clean, professional finished product that meets our quality standards

Opportunity to Become a Full Detailer The goal of this position is to train and develop the right person into a skilled Automotive Detailer. As you gain experience and demonstrate the right attitude, attention to detail and quality of work, you will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility, learn advanced detailing techniques and eventually handle complete interior and exterior detailing jobs independently.

Qualifications:

- Valid driver's licence preferred
- Previous automotive, detailing, cleaning or shop experience is an asset
- Ability to safely lift, move and handle equipment and materials
- Ability to work in a fast-paced automotive shop environment
