Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) is the global technology group that delivers the software and hardware technology solutions that make our businesses run. The team manages the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers and mainframes.
This position is with the Enterprise Resource Data Management (ERDM) Group, part of the Enterprise System Management (ESM) department within EI. The ERDM group is responsible for a set of systems used to manage Brokerage's IT inventory and assets data, together with their configuration and operational state. This data is critical for regulatory, operational, and efficiency purposes.
We are a global organization with team members spanning three continents. Our clients are internal Brokerage users.
We are embarking on a project to improve the provisioning, storing, querying, analyzing and extraction of knowledge from the data we manage,
which is comprised of hundreds of millions of data elements. As part of this project we will be replacing our entire data management platform, which is based on traditional data warehouse tooling (ETL ' s, relational databases, etc.), to a big data stack (data pipelines, NoSQL, etc.).
We are looking for a seasoned developer/architect to help us bootstrap and build our new data ingestion platform. The core function for this position is to design and build a high performance and highly available data pipeline. The project consists in building a solution that will feed data to an operational data store. The solution should be able to handle a high volume of real time messages as well as batch-based loads. The information should be verified and transformed previous to the load.
Qualifications
Skills (required)
- Solid java knowledge
- Experience with real time stream processors (Spark, Storm, Samza, or similar)
- Experience with Kafka message broker or similar
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience developing in Linux environments
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
Skills (nice to have)
- Knowledge of Scala
- Knowledge of Perl/Python
- Knowledge of semantic technologies (RDF, triple stores, OWL)
- Knowledge of Marklogic
- Experience with Hadoop and related technologies (hive, pig, etc.)
- Knowledge of Javascript on (for server-side development)
- Experience with business intelligence concepts and tools
