The Board Treasurer plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health, transparency, and long-term sustainability of Sheridanlife Radio. As a key officer of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer provides strategic oversight of the station's finances, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support student programming, station equipment, and operational growth. While day-to-day operations are handled by student teams, the Board Treasurer acts as a trusted fiduciary—translating financial data into explicit strategic guidance for board decisions, maintaining compliance,



and helping the station maximize its community impact.

• Budgeting

- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with board members and station leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor income, operational expenses, and cash flow to maintain financial stability throughout the broadcasting year.
- Advise on resource allocation for programming, studio equipment maintenance, technology upgrades, and campus outreach events.

2. Reporting & • Governance

- Prepare, analyze, and present clear, concise financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, and budget-to-actual variances) at regular board meetings.
- Interpret financial data for non-finance board members to support informed strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and stored in accordance with relevant non-profit accounting standards and organizational policies.

3. Compliance & • Risk Management

- Maintain oversight of internal financial controls to safeguard station assets and prevent misallocation of funds.
- Facilitate year-end financial reviews or audits as required, acting as a point of contact for external accountants or auditors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant non-profit governance regulations, campus agreements,



and grant reporting guidelines.

Qualifications &

- Finance & • Planning:

Strong background in finance, financial management, or business administration, with an understanding of long-term planning and sustainability.
- Budgeting Expertise: Hands-on experience developing, managing, and tracking annual operational budgets.
- Financial Literacy: Proven ability to read, interpret, and present financial statements to board members and stakeholders.
- Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with basic accounting principles, record-keeping practices, and audit preparation.
