Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their team on a 1-year contract in Paris, Ontario.
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Bookkeeper/Accountant with strong foundational manufacturing knowledge to manage our general ledgers and production costing. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records and working directly with Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate inventory valuation and product costing.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, analyze, and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate categorization of all manufacturing and operating transactions.
- Work closely with the production team to audit, update, and manage Bills of Materials to ensure material costs match actual production.
- Record and track inventory valuation across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods using BOM metrics.
- Apply manufacturing knowledge to allocate direct labor and factory overhead costs accurately to production jobs.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies between standard BOM costs and actual manufacturing costs.
- Process vendor invoices for raw materials and manage client billing for finished goods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of direct experience working inside a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience working with Bills of Materials, multi-level BOMs, or standard costing systems.
- Solid expertise in general ledger maintenance, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (like NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks Enterprise Manufacturing) and advanced Excel skills.
