About The Role The College is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI), Reporting, and Analytics Developer to join the Academic Operations and Planning department on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of institutional data used for decision-making and strategic planning. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models, reports, dashboards, and metadata frameworks that support various institutional needs.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide technical guidance on BI tools and best practices, helping to enhance data-driven decision-making processes across the college. The position requires a deep understanding of business intelligence tools, data analysis, and database management, with a focus on delivering actionable insights that support institutional goals.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the college’s data infrastructure, supporting initiatives related to student enrollment, retention, financial analysis, and other key metrics.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Business, or a related analytical discipline
- Approximately 100 hours of instruction in Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Microsoft Certified Professional, and Microsoft BI Designation
- Minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in reporting, database administration, analytics, or business intelligence roles
- Proficiency in creating, testing, and maintaining data models, reports, and dashboards
- Experience with business intelligence tools and techniques used in educational institutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation for team members and end-users
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, metadata modeling, and enterprise reporting standards
Responsibilities
- Identify appropriate data sources within data warehouses or other databases to support reporting needs
- Create, test, and maintain data models that underpin reporting solutions
- Develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level reports and dashboards to meet institutional requirements
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation for internal teams and end-users
- Perform analysis activities related to institutional metrics such as enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction
- Conduct financial analyses, including program costing and overhead assessments
- Meet with internal clients to provide guidance on BI tools, best practices, and troubleshooting
- Determine future reporting requirements and establish specifications for new data requests
- Research and stay current with emerging BI technologies, tools, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities
- Assist in training and supporting end-users in self-service BI tools and reporting functionalities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to support departmental objectives
