Casual / Event-Based | Starting at $20/hour

North Okanagan Events is growing, and we’re looking for energetic, dependable people to join our casual event team.

This is not a traditional set-schedule position. Hours vary depending on bookings and may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends. It could be a great fit for someone looking for adaptable extra work who enjoys events, decorating, working with people, and doing something different from one shift to the next.

What You May Be Doing

Depending on the event, you could be:

- Helping prepare rental orders at our Lake Country location
- Loading and unloading event supplies
- Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, linens, décor, games, backdrops and other event items
- Decorating birthday parties, weddings and special events
- Helping with balloon décor and learning balloon arches/garlands
- Hosting children’s birthday parties
- Leading games, crafts and activities
- Helping children move between activities
- Assisting with food stations such as popcorn, cotton candy or slushies
- Helping run games, mini golf or other entertainment
- Wearing a princess, superhero or other character costume for events
- Supporting our Event Coordinators and Directors
- Cleaning, packing and checking inventory after events

You will not be expected to do every one of these things. We want to learn what you are already good at and what you would be interested in learning.

Who We’re Looking For

We would love to meet someone who is:

- Dependable and punctual
- Friendly and comfortable around clients and guests
- Willing to learn
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable with physical setup and takedown
- Able to lift and move event equipment safely
- Comfortable working around children
- Creative or interested in decorating
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends




- Comfortable communicating by text/phone regarding shifts

A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are strongly preferred. Having your own vehicle is an asset, as team members need to travel to our Lake Country storage location and event venues throughout the Okanagan.

We are happy to provide in-house training in a variety of event skills. Pay & Growth

Starting event-helper rate: $20/hour

Additional opportunities and higher-paid roles may become available with training and experience, including Event Coordinator, specialty services, advanced balloon work and character performance.

North Okanagan Events is building a team where people can cross-train, learn new skills and take on more responsibility as the company grows.

This is a casual, event-based position. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on bookings. Team members provide their availability and are contacted as events are scheduled.

Some weeks may have several opportunities and other weeks may have very few.
