Role Summary OOTB Art Studio is seeking a passionate and reliable Ceramics Instructor to lead beginner-friendly wheel throwing and handbuilding classes. The ideal candidate enjoys teaching, creating a welcoming environment, and helping students build confidence in ceramics while maintaining studio standards and safety.
Key Responsibilities - Teach wheel throwing and handbuilding classes for adults, teens, and private events.
- Provide clear demonstrations and hands-on coaching.
- Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles.
- Set up and reset workstations, tools, and materials.
- Label and organize student work for drying, bisque firing, glazing, and pickup.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized studio environment.
- Communicate class expectations, firing timelines, and glaze options.
- Create a friendly and welcoming experience for students and guests.
- Collaborate with studio leadership to improve classes and studio operations.
Qualifications - Strong foundation in wheel throwing and/or handbuilding.
- Ability to teach beginners in a clear and encouraging manner.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Evening and weekend availability preferred.
Preferred Skills - Knowledge of glazing techniques and ceramic processes.
- Experience with kiln loading and firing procedures.
- Experience teaching youth programs, workshops, or private events.
- Photography, videography, or social media content creation skills are an asset.
