Who We Are

Ironwood Wellness is a new Christian counselling practice located in North Kildonan, Winnipeg. We provide a warm, welcoming, and confidential space where individuals and couples can access compassionate, professional support.

As we grow, we are expanding our services to include children and youth and are looking for a caring and experienced therapist to help establish and grow this area of our practice.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Child & Adolescent Therapist with a Christian approach to join our growing team. The role will primarily focus on providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents, using evidence-based approaches to support emotional well-being, resilience, coping, and personal growth.

The successful candidate will create a safe and supportive environment where young clients feel heard, respected, and understood. There is also an opportunity to work with individuals, couples, and families based on your experience and areas of interest.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow children, youth, and family services within a new Christian counselling practice.

Responsibilities

- Complete assessments of children and adolescents to understand their emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, incorporating Christian values and perspectives when appropriate and welcomed by the client and family.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, healthy relationships, resilience, and personal growth.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that respects each client’s beliefs, values, background, and family circumstances.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators,



healthcare professionals, and other members of a client’s support network when appropriate.
- Monitor client progress, adapt therapeutic approaches as needed, and maintain timely and thorough clinical documentation.
- Stay current with research and best practices related to child and adolescent mental health and therapeutic approaches.

Requirements

- Experience providing counselling or therapeutic support to children and/or adolescents.
- Experience working with families and caregivers and an understanding of the unique needs of young clients.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches relevant to children and adolescents.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health and common emotional, behavioural, and psychological concerns.
- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans, maintain thorough clinical documentation, and monitor client progress.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect meaningfully with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, client-centred, and ethical care.
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for clients from diverse backgrounds and belief systems, while being comfortable incorporating Christian perspectives when requested by the client or family.
- Provide a Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check




- Active involvement in a Christian church community and a genuine commitment to reflecting Christian values in personal and professional practice.

- Biweekly invoicing
- Payment of $105 per individual session / $126 per couples session
