We are seeking a agile and safety-conscious Class 1 Driver specialized in Flat Deck Can/US transportation to join our energetic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty flatbed trucks across various routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks with flat deck can/US configurations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Securely load, unload, and inspect freight to ensure proper handling and prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security systems.
- Coordinate with dispatch to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries across various locations.
- Use forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed for loading or unloading freight efficiently and safely.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle reliability.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating flatbed trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in freight transportation.
- Proficiency in forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques specific to flat deck can/US loads.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients effectively.
