Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Service is seeking a motivated and experienced Classic Car Restoration Technician. We are an automotive garage which means we offer a wide range of vehicle maintenance and car repair services that help prolong the life of your vehicle. We work with many fleet customers and can service vehicles including but not limited to light and heavy-duty vehicles, transports, motorhomes, motorcycles, and select hot rods.
This position is ideal for someone who loves classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and custom vehicles and takes pride in bringing them back to life. The successful candidate will work on a variety of restoration and custom automotive projects, from mechanical repairs and engine work to electrical systems, suspension, brakes and custom modifications.
This is a hands-on position where craftsmanship, attention to detail and problem-solving are extremely important.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with 40 hours per week, competitive hourly wages, benefits, and vacation pay. The job is based out of Jasper, ON. Drivers’ License and transportation required.

- Understands that restoration work requires patience and precision
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical restoration and repairs on classic and vintage vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and drivability issues
- Remove, rebuild, replace and install engines,
transmissions and driveline components
- Perform brake, steering and suspension repairs and upgrades
- Install and troubleshoot wiring and electrical systems
- Install aftermarket and performance components
- Perform custom modifications and upgrades
- Assist with engine swaps and drivetrain conversions
- Fabricate and modify components as required
- Perform fuel system, cooling system and exhaust work
- Work with carbureted and fuel-injected systems
- Troubleshoot older and modified automotive systems
- Perform rust repair and minor metal fabrication as required
- Assist with disassembly and reassembly of restoration projects
- Maintain accurate organization of parts and components throughout restoration projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Safely operate shop equipment, lifts and specialty tools
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and shop staff
- Complete projects to a high standard of quality and craftsmanship
- Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate repair or restoration solutions
Requirements
- Previous experience working on classic, vintage or custom vehicles is strongly preferred
- Automotive technician experience is an asset
- Experience with hot rods, muscle cars or performance vehicles is an asset
- Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems
- Experience with engine swaps and performance upgrades is an asset
- Electrical and wiring experience is an asset
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
- Experience with carburetors and older automotive systems is an asset
- Valid driver's licence required
- 310S Automotive Service Technician certification is an asset but not required for the right candidate
