Hiring: COBOL Developer

? Location: Irvine, CA

? Role: COBOL Developer

? Work Location: Irvine, CA

We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to join our team and support enterprise applications, enhancements, and modernization initiatives.

? Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Design, code, test, debug, and implement application changes

Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis

Work with business analysts, QA, and other technology teams

Participate in application maintenance, enhancements, and modernization efforts

Prepare technical documentation and support deployment activities

Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and quality standards

? Required Skills





✅ Strong COBOL development experience

✅ Experience with JCL, DB2, and VSAM

✅ Mainframe development and production support experience

✅ Strong knowledge of batch and online processing

✅ Experience with debugging and performance troubleshooting

✅ Good understanding of SDLC and software development methodologies

✅ Robust communication and problem-solving skills

⭐ Preferred

➕ CICS experience

➕ z/OS / IBM Mainframe experience

➕ Experience with MQ, SQL, or Unix/Linux

➕ Application modernization / legacy system migration experience

➕ Experience working in Agile environments
