Ontario
- Design, develop and configure PC-based software applications based on customer and project requirements.
- Configure and integrate server-based systems supporting industrial automation projects.
- Debug and commission systems during internal integration and customer-site installation.
- Travel to customer and supplier locations for installation, commissioning and training.
- Select, test and integrate hardware and software components, including:
- Servers
- Hypervisors
- Virtual machines
- VPN devices
- Managed Ethernet switches
- Customer data system interfaces
- Cloud and edge-system security interfaces
- Develop requirements specifications, acceptance test plans and design documentation.
- Apply change-control and configuration-management practices.
- Test interactions between controls, HMI and SCADA systems.
- Produce accurate technical and project documentation.
- Support customers in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Assist Applications teams with pre-quote and pre-automation activities.
- Design, implement, test and deliver automation solutions involving:
- Computer software applications
- Data acquisition, processing, visualization, streaming and storage
- SQL databases, schemas and stored procedures
- Big-data and machine-learning interfaces
- IIoT systems
- PC-based HMI and SCADA systems
- PLC controls integration
Project Execution
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, customers and suppliers.
- Participate actively in project and technical meetings.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved according to schedule.
- Identify and elevate potential schedule or delivery issues.
- Follow established project operating, quality and safety procedures.
- Support a collaborative and continuous-improvement culture.
- Perform additional duties and projects as required.
Travel
Travel to customer and supplier locations is expected to beless than 30%, although additional travel may occasionally be required based on project demands.
Education
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience & Skills
- Approximately7+ years of relevant experienceworking with data systems, SCADA, MES, ERP, server systems, security or cloud-based technologies within an automation environment.
- Experience withIgnition and AVEVA SCADA platforms.
- Experience integrating SCADA systems withMES and ERP systems.
- Experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA programming.
- Strong experience withMicrosoft Visual Studio and SQL.
- Understanding of web-based technologies and applications.
- Knowledge of industrial network architecture and configuration.
- Experience with server infrastructure, virtualization and industrial data systems.
- Robust troubleshooting and systems-integration capabilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a project team.
Compensation:
$37.00–$50.00 per hour
