Position Title: Costing Specialist

Department: Finance

Division: One Acadian

Location: Canada/Remote

PROFILE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Costing Specialist to join our Supply Chain Finance team. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for maintaining product costing accuracy, analyzing manufacturing and supply chain costs, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency.

RELATIONSHIPS The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and support strategic decision-making.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Maintain and validate standard costs for raw materials, packaging, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze product costs to identify risks and opportunities.
- Investigate and explain cost variances, including material, labor, overhead, and freight variances.
- Support month-end close activities related to inventory valuation and cost accounting.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost and profitability analyses for leadership teams.
- Monitor cost trends and recommend actions to improve margins and operational performance.
- Support inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory processes.
- Analyze inventory movements, obsolescence, and excess inventory reserves.
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts,



highlighting key drivers and risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve costing processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain and enhance costing models, dashboards, and financial reporting tools.
- Support the company’s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture, and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership towards meeting the company’s objectives in these areas.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting, finance, supply chain finance, or manufacturing finance.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, consumer goods, food, beverage, or supply chain environment preferred.
- Experience with Global entities desirable.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP B1 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is an asset.
