Working with people with disabilities is and challenging and rewarding opportunities. In the positions you will lead classes based on the participant's interests, exploring, and learning music together. This position has a lot of creative flexibility to guide your classes in how you see will best engage our participants.

This position is so much more than leading and instructing Creative Expressions Music classes in both group and individual settings, it is helping participants communicate through music, enjoy the sensory aspect of music, and share their love of music!

REQUIREMENTS:

Understanding of and experience with:

- Music instruction in both individual and group settings
- Experience working with people of all ages and all disabilities
- Working in a team environment

Skills:

- Leadership
- Organization in scheduling and coordination of group
- Communications: clear and precise

Background:

- Highschool/postsecondary education
- Studies in Music,



Music Therapy or related field

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Program Responsibilities: Delivery of front-line Creative Expression Music program, adapting programming to meet the needs of participants.
- Creating lesson plans for the group and individual sessions to assist participants to express themselves through music and enjoy the sensory aspects.
- Administration: attendance, etc
- Other duties, as required

Criminal records and vulnerable sector checks will be included in the hiring process. The position is contractual - Hours are based on program registration must have afternoon and evening availability.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
