The Custodial

Aide will work alongside the Head Custodian and Custodian to perform general cleaning duties and grounds/building maintenance. This position supports the strategic actions of the MultiYear Strategic Plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

As the Custodial Aide, you will assist in the general cleaning of school/building – maintains the classroom, hallways, washrooms, ancillary spaces, and grounds in a safe and clean conditions

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

- Completion of Grade 10
- Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
- Related work experience in cleaning and or maintenance is considered as an asset
- Knowledge of WHMIS, Workplace Safety and Health is preferred
- Ability to operate light cleaning equipment and tools, i.e., vacuum, mops, brooms, duster, etc.




- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal direction
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively in accordance with Divisional policies and guidelines
- Ability to work independently and in a team workplace
- Ability to maintain regular attendance
- Respect confidentiality of work
- Ability to read and write in English
- Proficient in Microsoft outlook
- Must be able to communicate in a pleasant, courteous, and effective manner

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
- Review and comply with Divisional policies and guidelines.
- Continued employment is subject to maintaining legal eligibility to work in Canada.
