Data Analyst

Location: Toronto (Hybrid) – 4 Days Onsite

12+ Months Contract

Requirements and responsibilities

What you’ll do

- Working with the Project teams, business stakeholders, technical SMEs, , Data Insights on a growing portfolio of interactive dashboards across many product teams
- Create new datasets and sophisticated dashboards
- Understand the data and business processes across all applications, all data domains
- Advocate best practises for development across our teams

What you’ll bring

Must Have

- Expert in SQL, Hadoop, BigData, Hive, Nifi
- Ability to analyse the construction of existing reports and reverse engineer table relationships etc
- Strong knowledge of the Retail Domain and experience with various stages of data warehouse projects, including data extraction, cleansing, aggregation, validation, transformation, and loading.
- Exp in using DataStage components such as Sequential File, Join, Sort, Merge, Lookup, Transformer,



Remove Duplicates, Copy, Filter, Funnel, Dataset, Change Data Capture, and Aggregator.
- Solid at database commands (DDL and DML) and data warehousing implementations models.
- Hands on exp with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, NiFi, and YARN.
- Familiar with Mainframe ESP for job scheduling.
- - Understanding of branched development – dev, qa, prod etc
- Passionate about data and it’s potential

Desired:

- Experience of analyzing Lobs, data bases, writing scripts.
- Experience of connecting to additional sources such as Azure, MySql
- CI/CD experience

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Candidates without Computer Science or Information Technology degree should have significant work experience.
