About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Technology and Projects Services (TAPS) Division on a full-time basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an innovative professional to contribute to our data-driven initiatives, supporting the organization’s strategic objectives through advanced analytics and data management. The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert in analyzing, collecting, preparing, and storing electronic data, playing a vital role in supporting business intelligence operations, governance, and reporting functions.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop insightful dashboards, optimize data pipelines, and ensure data integrity across various platforms. This position requires a proactive individual capable of translating complex technical concepts into understandable insights for diverse audiences, ultimately helping BCSC maintain its leadership in regulatory excellence and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

- A technical diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with SQL and data analytics.




- Hands-on experience with T-SQL programming and JSON data formats.
- Proficiency in Power Query and Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Experience with SQL Server, including SSIS and SSRS, as well as Azure cloud analytics tools such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric for data governance and integration.
- Experience supporting data governance initiatives, including maintaining data dictionaries, lineage, and business rules.
- Proficiency in ETL and ELT principles, with a focus on data transformation and pipeline optimization.
- Familiarity with statistical computing languages such as R and Python.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data mining techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and synthesize data into meaningful insights.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

- Collect, clean, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources to support business reporting and decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to facilitate analytics and reporting functions.
- Create, optimize, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations to deliver actionable insights.
- Utilize Azure cloud services and advanced analytics tools for data processing, automation, and integration.




- Implement and uphold data management policies using Microsoft Purview, ensuring data security, classification, and lineage.
- Develop and manage ETL and ELT pipelines utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
- Perform statistical analysis using R, Python, or similar tools to support data science initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and optimize database performance to ensure effective data processing and retrieval.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into technical data solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and findings effectively to both technical teams and non-technical audiences.
- Partner with teams across the organization, including Data Science and Data Management, to advance data initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
