Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you serve as the critical link between the engineering organization and customers, translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You'll partner directly with enterprise customers on data integration, architecture design, and implementation—from initial discovery through production deployment. This role combines software engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, and product innovation.

Rather than pure product development, you engage closely with customers throughout the solution lifecycle, acting as a trusted technical advisor while influencing the core platform based on real-world learnings.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with enterprise customers to understand their network, data flows, workflows, and technical requirements
- Lead technical discovery sessions, solution design, and implementation with customers
- Integrate and onboard customer data sources (IdPs, SASE, network, endpoints, cloud platforms,



apps, services) into the data pipeline

- Design and implement production-grade solutions using APIs, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices
- Work with Sales Engineering and Solution Architects during customer technical onboarding from kick-off to full operational status
- Serve as trusted technical advisor to field teams on customer data, policies, rules, playbooks, data collection, integration, and security architecture

- Debug and troubleshoot deployment issues; optimize system performance and data pipeline reliability
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap based on customer feedback
- Occasionally travel to customer sites as needed

Non-Negotiables

- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with proven track record in customer-facing or consulting roles
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go

- Experience with REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker and Kubernetes hands-on experience
- Experience building connector platforms or integration frameworks
- Familiarity with IAM, identity security, cybersecurity, or SIEM technologies

- Experience integrating enterprise systems at scale
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
- Ability to manage stakeholders and work autonomously with enterprise customers

- Nice to Have
- Experience with APIs from major cloud/security vendors (Microsoft, Google, AWS, Okta, Duo, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Palo Alto, Microsoft Defender)
- Large-scale data processing and streaming systems (Kafka, Spark, etc.)

- Solution architecture background
- AI/ML applications or LLM experience
- DevOps or cloud infrastructure expertise
- Solutions consultant or customer engineering background

- Prior security or identity platform experience

Compensation & Benefits

- Base: CAD $130K–$180K (versatile based on experience and background)
