Job Title: Data Scientist
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Duration: 6 months+
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team for a 6-month project in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS, Databricks, and a strong proficiency in Python. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Extensive experience with AWS services such as S3, IAM roles, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation
- Proficient in building and managing data pipelines using Python and Spark on Databricks
- Experience in data architecture, data mapping, and data modeling on Databricks
- Strong experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
- Proven experience in performance tuning and debugging failed jobs
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes clusters and maintenance
- Familiarity with GIT and CICD pipelines
- Experience in creating and maintaining Databricks schema, objects, and Notebooks
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using Python and Spark on Databricks
- Set up and maintain SQL Warehouses, workspaces, and Unity catalog
- Perform data ingestion, storage, harmonization, and curation
- Ensure data security and performance optimization
