About the role.As the Director, Data Platform Governance, you will lead the technology and execution capabilities that enable trusted, governed, measurable, and business-ready data across McCain. Reporting to the VP, Head of Data and Analytics, you will be responsible for establishing, operationalizing, and continuously improving enterprise data governance, master data management, data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle capabilities.Working in close partnership with the Business Transformation Head of Data Governance, you will help shape and execute the enterprise governance strategy, operating model, policies, stewardship framework, and data management capabilities required to support global business and digital transformation.
Your work will enable operational excellence, supply chain effectiveness, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled decision-making.This is a hands-on leadership role for a pragmatic builder, operator, and problem solver. You will connect governance practices to measurable business outcomes, lead the resolution of complex data issues, and ensure that enterprise data is fit for operational, analytical, and AI use. What you’ll be doing.
- Define and execute McCain’s enterprise data governance strategy, roadmap, operating model, policies, standards, controls, and stewardship practices in partnership with business transformation leadership.
- Lead enterprise master data management capabilities across customer, product, material, supplier, vendor, finance, location, and supply chain data domains.
- Establish governance councils, stewardship forums, ownership models, decision rights, accountability structures, KPIs, scorecards, and executive reporting.
- Direct enterprise-wide data quality capabilities, including business rules, data profiling, monitoring, root-cause analysis, remediation programs, preventative controls, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish metadata management and data intelligence capabilities, including business glossaries, critical data elements, technical and business metadata, data catalogs, data lineage, classification standards, and data discovery.
- Lead enterprise data lifecycle and information governance practices, including retention, archiving, historical data management, disposition, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle controls.
- Provide governance leadership across SAP S/4HANA, SAP MDG, SimpleMDG, Blue Yonder, CRM platforms, the Enterprise Data Platform, analytics and AI platforms, integration platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Partner across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Customer Operations, Business Transformation, and Technology to align data priorities with transformation and operational objectives.
- Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global Data Platform Governance organization while fostering accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Influence senior leaders, manage priorities across multiple transformation initiatives,
support regulatory and audit requirements, and drive measurable improvements in data quality and business performance.
What you’ll need to be successful.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- 12 or more years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, master data management, or enterprise information management.
- At least five years of experience leading enterprise governance or master data management organizations.
- Strong expertise in SAP master data structures, processes, and governance.
- Hands-on experience implementing or operating SAP MDG and/or SimpleMDG.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise data quality initiatives and building governance operating models and stewardship programs.
- Strong understanding of ERP transformation programs and experience managing enterprise-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and enterprise technologies such as Blue Yonder, CRM platforms, enterprise data platforms, data quality solutions, metadata management tools, data catalogs, and data lineage capabilities.
- Understanding of supply chain, customer, commercial, finance, product, supplier, and operational data domains.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, build alignment across business and technology teams, and translate governance concepts into measurable operational results.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving, execution, organizational change, and continuous improvement.
About the team.You will be part of McCain’s global Data and Analytics organization within the Chief Information & Technology Organization, reporting to the VP, Head of Data and Analytics. This role has people-leadership responsibility and will recruit, lead, mentor, and develop the Data Platform Governance organization.The team works in close partnership with the Business Transformation Data Governance Office and collaborates across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Customer Operations, and Technology. CAD annually + Bonus eligibility + Long-term incentive eligibility The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
