Position Information Position Title Early Childhood Assistant Casual Supply Posting Type Temporary Classification Title FT Support Staff C Pay Band C Min Salary $26.53 Max Salary $30.67 Position Summary The Early Childhood Assistant (Casual Supply) will support full time Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and provide coverage when they are absent from the program as well as fill in for ratio coverage in programs.

The assistant will work collaboratively with RECEs to help deliver a high-quality program that supports the needs of children and their families or caregivers. The incumbent must be willing to learn and demonstrate an understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act, as well as the Centre’s Program Statement, policies, and procedures.



Location/Campus Thunder Bay Campus Education Minimum level of formal education required for the position Up to High School or equivalent education Additional Requirements Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Field(s) of Study Early Childhood Education or Education Experience Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position Less than one (1) year Type of Experience - Willingness to learn from RECEs.

- Continuation of field placements as relevant to the incumbent.
- Knowledge of Microsoft is an asset (Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS ).
- Knowledge of Children and Family Centre Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of The Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
