Mightypals Daycare is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our Preschool/Kindergarten team in Sylvan Lake, Alberta.

We are specifically looking for an educator who enjoys working with preschool and kindergarten-aged children and understands the importance of creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences during these important early years.

The successful candidate will help create a welcoming, inclusive, play-based environment where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, build friendships, develop independence, and gain the social-emotional and practical skills that support a successful transition into school.

Our programming is guided by Alberta's Flight Framework and emphasizes child-led exploration, meaningful play, outdoor experiences, creativity, and responsive relationships.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate, play-based experiences specifically for preschool and kindergarten-aged children.
- Incorporate the principles of Alberta's Flight Framework into classroom planning, observations, documentation, and daily practice.
- Create intentional learning opportunities that support early literacy, numeracy, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and school-readiness skills through play.
- Support children in developing independence with daily routines, self-help skills, transitions, and classroom responsibilities.
- Foster children's social-emotional development, including communication, friendship-building, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and cooperation.
- Use positive guidance strategies to support children's behaviour while maintaining clear, consistent, and developmentally appropriate expectations.
- Observe and document children's interests, learning, development, and emerging skills and use these observations to guide future programming.
- Create an engaging classroom environment with meaningful learning centres, invitations to play, sensory experiences, creative activities, and open-ended materials.




- Provide meaningful outdoor and nature-based learning opportunities.
- Build positive and responsive relationships with each child.
- Maintain professional and open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's experiences, routines, development, and milestones.
- Work collaboratively with other educators, administration, families, and support professionals.
- Adapt programming and classroom experiences to support children with diverse abilities, developmental needs, and learning styles.
- Maintain accurate classroom documentation and required records.
- Follow all licensing, health, safety, supervision, sanitation, and Mightypals Daycare policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing reflective practice.

Requirements:

- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
- Previous experience working with Preschool, Pre-K, or Kindergarten-aged children is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, particularly for children approximately 3–6 years of age.
- Knowledge of or experience working with Alberta's Flight Framework is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to develop engaging, child-led and play-based programming.
- Strong classroom management and positive guidance skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, colleagues, and administration.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative within the classroom.




- Experience supporting children with diverse or additional needs is considered an asset.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, and digital platforms for documentation, programming, and family communication.
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
