Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or assistance with disabilities.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's growth.
- Use computer skills to document daily progress notes, update educational records, and manage classroom schedules efficiently.
- Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities such as patience, flexibility, and proactive problem-solving.
- Manage time effectively to balance lesson planning, supervision duties,
and administrative tasks while maintaining high-quality care.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or related environments.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as French are highly valued for supporting diverse communities.
- Experience working with children who have disabilities or special needs is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom activities with excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation and communication purposes.
- Certification or diploma in early childhood education (Level 2 or 3) is required; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when needed.
