The Opportunity

Rightway Recruitment is representing an established electrical contractor delivering commercial construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

They are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Coordinator to work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful delivery of electrical projects.

This is a hands-on coordination role suited to someone who understands electrical construction, can confidently review drawings and specifications, and is highly organized when managing procurement, documentation, schedules, and project information. The successful candidate will play an significant role in identifying potential issues early and keeping projects moving efficiently.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination

- Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout project delivery
- Review electrical drawings and perform material and equipment counts as required
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements
- Assist with project scheduling and coordinate internal and external meetings
- Attend project meetings and prepare accurate meeting minutes
- Support project closeout and documentation requirements

Procurement & Materials

- Assist with procurement of lighting, switchgear, commodities, and other electrical materials
- Coordinate with suppliers and act as a liaison between vendors and Project Managers
- Track fixtures, distribution equipment, and materials against project schedules
- Follow up on backorders and identify potential schedule impacts
- Maintain accurate records of packing slips and material releases

Documentation & Change Management

- Coordinate shop drawings, including requesting, transmitting, tracking, and documenting submissions
- Assist with permit submissions, responses, inspections, and closeouts
- Support the preparation and tracking of change orders
- Assist with resolving design issues,



material defects, change requests, and equipment problems
- Identify drawing discrepancies, deficiencies, and potential code issues and escalate them to the Project Manager

Project Financial Support

- Assist Project Managers with monthly cost-to-complete meetings
- Support WIP reporting and project billings
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Coordinate with Accounting, HR, and other internal departments when required

What You Bring

- 3–5 years of construction administration or project coordination experience
- Commercial construction experience, ideally within the electrical industry
- Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong professional integrity and ability to handle confidential information

Working Environment

- Primarily office-based
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Travel to project sites throughout the Lower Mainland as required
- Some site-based coordination work may be required
- Overtime may occasionally be required depending on project demands

Compensation & Benefits

- $60,000 – $80,000 annual salary depending on experience
