Russell Hendrix Foodservice Equipment is looking for an Estimator to join our Quest manufacturing team in Winnipeg. Quest is our in-house manufacturing division, producing custom stainless-steel fabrications and gas appliances, all 100% handmade in Winnipeg. The Estimator is central to how we bring new business in and deliver on it.
This is a technical role with a customer-facing dimension, suited to someone who can move confidently between detailed estimation work and direct client engagement. What You'll Do
- Review and interpret customer drawings and specifications to build compliant quotations for entire projects based on Quest policies and procedures
- Break down custom fabrication requests and calculate material and labour costs and recommended margin of anticipated sales
- Provide drawings and sketches of custom quoted items for both initial customer review and shop drawings to support build where required
- Participate with customers on design elements prior to quoting as required
- Interface with internal and external customers around specific specifications and requirements for estimates
- Review purchase orders, project plans, specifications, and coordinate with internal teams to confirm complete scope and purchase order compliance
- Project manage and coordinate as required to ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented in accordance with customer specifications and purchase order requirements
- Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
- Interface directly with customers, installers, and project managers to resolve field issues
- Interface directly with service technicians in the field on warranty and repair work for Quest appliance
- Participate in sales campaigns and tradeshows as required
- Perform other related duties as required
Where You'll Work This is a full-time, onsite role based at the Quest manufacturing facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You'll work within a dynamic manufacturing environment, interacting regularly with the Quest production team, the broader Russell Hendrix organization, and customers. Occasional travel is required for tradeshows, sales campaigns, and field support.
What You Bring
Education and Experience
- 2-5 years of quoting experience in a related manufacturing environment
- Experience estimating in a foodservice or customer fabrication setting is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
- CAD drawing ability is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
Skills and Abilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- High attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manager multiple estimates and competing deadlines simultaneously
- Clear and professional communicator, comfortable working directly with customers, installers, and project managers
- Solutions-focused problem-solver with the ability to resolve technical and field challenges effectively
- Comfortable representing Quest at tradeshows and industry events in a customer-facing capacity
