- Role Overview

BigGeo is seeking an Event Marketing Manager to turn events into a strategic, measurable marketing channel for the Spatial Cloud.

This role owns more than logistics. You will determine where BigGeo should show up, why we should be there, who we need to reach, and how each investment can generate awareness, qualified conversations, and business opportunities.

You will own the complete event journey—from evaluating opportunities and planning through execution, lead capture, follow-up, attribution, and performance analysis.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who combines strategic judgment with detailed execution and believes events should be managed as a measurable growth channel.

- Core Responsibilities

Event Strategy and Investment





- Build and maintain BigGeo’s event strategy and calendar.
- Evaluate events based on audience relevance, strategic fit, commercial opportunity, category-building potential, cost, and expected outcomes.
- Define objectives and success criteria before investments are made.
- Recommend where BigGeo should participate, sponsor, speak, expand, test, or not invest.
- Improve event selection using performance data.

Event Planning and Execution

- Own priority events from planning through on-site execution and post-event completion.
- Manage budgets, vendors, sponsorship deliverables, timelines, logistics, registrations, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate internal teams around objectives, messaging, responsibilities, and deadlines.
- Anticipate risks and maintain a high standard for how BigGeo shows up.

Audience and Meeting Strategy

- Define target audiences and priority accounts with Sales and Marketing.
- Build pre-event programs that generate awareness, engagement, qualified meetings, and conversations.
- Ensure the BigGeo team arrives with a clear plan for who it wants to reach and why.

Speaking and Thought Leadership

- Identify conferences, panels, presentations, and other opportunities where BigGeo can contribute to important industry conversations.
- Coordinate submissions and supporting materials.
- Work with leadership, Marketing, Product, and technical experts to develop strong topics and narratives.
- Establish BigGeo and the Spatial Cloud within relevant technology, data, AI, and industry conversations.

Lead Management and Follow-Up
- Establish clear processes for capturing event interactions, leads, meetings, and account information.
- Coordinate timely follow-up with Sales and Marketing.
- Ensure event data supports attribution and performance analysis.
- Track progression from event engagement to qualified conversations and opportunities.

Measurement and Optimization

- Define meaningful performance measures based on each event’s purpose.
- Track investment, engagement, meetings, qualified conversations, opportunities, and other relevant outcomes.
- Build post-event reporting that shows what happened, what was learned, and whether the investment delivered value.
- Use performance and ROI data to recommend future investments.

AI-Enabled Event Operations
- Use AI to accelerate event discovery, research, and opportunity assessment.
- Apply AI to audience research, account targeting, planning, communications, and campaign development.
- Explore AI-assisted logistics, reporting, project management, and performance analysis.
- Use AI and historical performance data to improve future investment decisions.

- Technology and Tools

Operational collaboration happens through Slack, Google Workspace, and Monday.

The technology stack will evolve. What matters is your ability to build explicit processes, use data effectively, and adopt tools that improve execution and decision-making.

- Required Experience

- Experience planning and executing conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, experiential marketing, or comparable programs
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, logistics, and external partners
- Commercial mindset and ability to connect event activity to measurable outcomes
- Ability to evaluate event opportunities strategically
- Experience working across Sales, Marketing, leadership, and other stakeholders
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Comfort with autonomy, changing priorities, and incomplete information
- Strong attention to detail and operational risk management
- Ability to use performance data to guide future event investment
- Practical fluency with modern AI tools for research, targeting, planning, communications, reporting, and optimization

- Preferred Experience

- B2B marketing
- Technology, SaaS, data, infrastructure, or developer-focused companies
- Enterprise sales or account-based event programs
- Pre-event campaigns and meeting-generation strategies
- Event attribution, pipeline measurement, or ROI analysis
- Speaking and thought-leadership programs

- AI, spatial technology, geospatial data, or emerging technology

Technology experience is helpful but not essential. Strong event judgment, execution, and the ability to connect investment to measurable outcomes matter more.

Defining the Spatial Cloud requires BigGeo to be present in the conversations, industries, and communities where the future of spatial data, infrastructure, and AI is being shaped.

The Event Marketing Manager determines where those opportunities exist and how BigGeo can make them count.

You will put BigGeo in front of the right audiences for clear strategic reasons, creating opportunities for people to encounter the Spatial Cloud, understand what it makes possible, and begin conversations that can lead to adoption, partnerships, and business opportunities.

Success means BigGeo is showing up at the right events, in front of the right people, for the right reasons.

- Work Environment and Collaboration

BigGeo operates in a collaborative startup environment where people are expected to take ownership, move quickly, communicate clearly, and contribute beyond narrow functional boundaries.

You will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Growth, Product, technical experts, and company leadership.

You will have significant ownership of event recommendations and execution, requiring comfort making decisions with incomplete information and moving between strategic planning and hands-on delivery.

Travel is an inherent part of supporting priority conferences, trade shows, and events.

AI is part of how BigGeo works. You will continually explore how modern AI systems can improve research, planning, targeting, communications, reporting, and decision-making.
