About Mimi’s

Mimi’s Focaccia House is a small (but quickly growing!) Vancouver food business specializing in focaccia, focaccia hot dogs, pop-ups, catering and events.

We’re looking for another person to join our events team and help bring Mimi’s to corporate events, weddings, festivals, pop-ups and other events around Vancouver.

This is a part-time, event-based role, so the schedule changes from week to week. Weekday availability is required, as many of our corporate events and catering bookings happen Monday-Friday during the day. Weekend and evening availability is also a big plus.

One important thing to know: this is a very physical role. Every event involves loading, transporting, setting up and taking down our cart, food, equipment and supplies. You’ll be on your feet, lifting and moving things, loading vehicles and helping get Mimi’s from our kitchen to the event and back again. We want to be upfront that this is a big part of the job!

We’re also growing very quickly, and we’re looking for key people who are excited to grow with us. For the right person, there is lots of opportunity to take on more shifts, more responsibility and a bigger role within Mimi’s over time.

What you’ll be doing

- Working Mimi’s events around Vancouver - corporate events, weddings, festivals, pop-ups and more
- Loading and unloading our cart, food, equipment and event supplies
- Setting up and taking down the full Mimi’s event setup at each event
- Driving company/rental vehicles, including larger vehicles such as cargo vans
- Serving focaccia, focaccia hot dogs and other Mimi’s products
- Chatting with customers and creating a fun, welcoming experience
- Handling transactions and keeping the event space organized
- Replenishing food and supplies throughout events
- Packing everything back up and returning equipment after events
- Jumping in wherever needed to make sure the event runs smoothly

people-facing and very hands-on. There’s lots of variety, lots of movement and lots of bread.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to find someone who:

- Has weekday daytime availability
- Has some flexibility for evenings and weekends
- Has a bubbly, outgoing personality and naturally makes people feel welcome
- Has previous customer-facing experience; hospitality or events experience is a plus
- Has a valid driver’s licence and is confident driving larger vehicles, including cargo vans
- Is comfortable with a highly physical job involving frequent lifting, carrying, loading and unloading
- Can comfortably lift 20+ lbs repeatedly throughout a shift
- Is comfortable being on their feet and moving for much of the day
- Is reliable, punctual and takes ownership
- Moves quickly and stays organized when things get busy
- Is happy to jump in and help wherever needed
- Wants to grow with a small business and is excited about taking on more responsibility over time
