Ken Lapain & Sons LTD is looking for an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team in Essex, Ontario.

This is not an entry-level painting position. We are looking for someone with 5–6+ years of hands-on industrial painting experience who understands proper preparation, coating application and finishing—and who takes pride in getting the job done right.

If you are an experienced painter who can work confidently with industrial spray equipment, understands coatings and specifications, and knows the difference that proper prep and application make to the finished product, we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing steel, fabricated components and equipment for coating
- Performing masking, cleaning and surface preparation
- Sandblasting components when required
- Mixing paints and coatings accurately according to manufacturer and job specifications
- Applying industrial coatings using pressure pot, airless and air-assisted airless systems
- Applying epoxy, urethane, enamel and other industrial coatings
- Performing minor bodywork and surface repairs where required
- Reading and following product data sheets, coating specifications and job requirements
- Monitoring film coverage, finish and overall application quality
- Identifying coating defects and correcting issues before work is completed
- Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets company and customer quality standards
- Maintaining spray equipment, tools and a clean, organized work area
- Following company safety procedures and established work processes
- Taking ownership of completed work and helping minimize defects, rework and unnecessary material waste

What We’re Looking For Industrial painting experience is essential for this position.

The successful candidate will have:





- 5–6+ years of industrial painting experience
- Strong hands-on experience with pressure pot spray systems
- Experience operating airless spray equipment
- Experience operating air-assisted airless spray equipment
- Experience applying epoxy coatings
- Experience applying urethane coatings
- Experience applying enamel coatings
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing, ratios, reducers, pot life and application procedures
- Experience with masking and detailed preparation work
- Experience with surface preparation and minor bodywork
- Ability to confidently read and follow paint specifications and technical data sheets
- A strong understanding of what causes coating defects and how to prevent or correct them
- Experience painting both large and small steel fabrications
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished workmanship
- The ability to work independently without requiring constant supervision
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation

Considered an Asset
- Experience with heavy equipment or commercial vehicle components
- Experience working within an ISO-certified environment
- Experience with specialty or high-build industrial coatings
- Sandblasting experience

If you have primarily residential or commercial building-painting experience but limited industrial spray-painting experience, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.
