Purpose The Facilities Technician II performs a wider range of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position requires a higher level of skill and experience than the Facilities Technician I, with the ability to work more independently and handle more complex tasks. The Technician II may also provide guidance and training to less experienced team members.

Hourly Rate:

$37.00 per hour + Overtime Opportunities Paid at 1.5x

Responsibilities

- Perform more complex maintenance and repair tasks on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, with minimal supervision.
- Perform repairs to building structures, such as walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, and windows, using a variety of materials and techniques.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain and repair grounds, including landscaping, irrigation systems,



snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
- Operate and maintain a wider range of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment history.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols meticulously to ensure a safe working environment and comply with all relevant regulations.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and renovations, working independently or as part of a team.
- Provide guidance and training to Facilities Technician I staff on maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

Skills

- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex malfunctions and implement effective repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and guide other team members.

Certifications/Education

- TSSA Class A or Class B Refrigeration Operator License required
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Facility maintenance tech school (preferred)
