Alexander First Nation is located 11 km west of Morinville, Alberta. We are a program committed to developing and implementing on-going, enhanced and unique community supports for our First Nation children, families and community. Wapski Mahikan Society is looking to hire an individual to assist/support individuals/families of children and youth. Therefore, we are now seeking:

FAMILY INTERVENTION WORKER

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

· 2 Year Social Work Diploma or equivalent;

· Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources;

· Experience working with First Nations;

· Must be sensitive to the Cree culture and language;

· Fluency in the Cree language would be considered an asset;

· Willingness to work flexible hours;

· Excellent communication and human interactions are vital;

· Computer skills;

· Exceptional initiative and attention to detail;

· Must possess valid Driver’s License – Class 5 minimum;





· Must have Criminal Records Check and Child & Youth Intervention Check;

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Excellent writing and verbal skills;

· Counselling Skills;

· Facilitation skills;

· Self-motivated and energetic;

· Conflict resolution and mediation skills;

· Able to work well with others as well as independently;

· Promote and educate community members in a positive professional manner;

· A positive role model;
