Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working with vehicles, equipment and customers? We’re looking for a Fire & Life Safety Technician to join our Sarnia team.
This is a mobile service role where you’ll inspect, service and repair fire and life safety equipment at customer sites throughout Southwestern Ontario. If you have a mechanical background and enjoy working with tools, equipment and people, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Inspect, service and repair fire and life safety equipment, including vehicle fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
- Service vehicle fire suppression systems from manufacturers such as Ansul, Kidde, Fogmaker and Amerex.
- Identify equipment issues, complete repairs and provide practical recommendations to customers.
- Complete service reports, inspection documentation and required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Work with the Service Coordinator and Supervisor to plan daily work and respond to customer needs.
- Maintain your service vehicle, tools and inventory so you’re ready for each service call.
- Provide basic customer training and guidance on equipment when required.
- Participate in safety meetings, training and Job Hazard Analyses while following Levitt-Safety’s Safe Work Practices.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience in a mechanical shop, automotive, heavy equipment or similar setting.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using power and hand tools.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable using computers and completing paperwork accurately.
- Safety-conscious, dependable and organized.
- Fire protection or suppression experience is an asset.
- Valid Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Able to successfully complete required pre-employment checks, including a drug and alcohol test and background check.

You’ll be working at customer sites, including outdoor and industrial environments, and will regularly lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. The role involves travel throughout Southwestern Ontario and participation in after-hours callouts when required.
