Job Title: : Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Assignemnt Overview

Candidate will be responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. She/he will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business. She/he will Lead design discussion in a limited manner.

Essential Responsibilities

- Responsible for requirements, design, development, implementation, and testing of embedded software for industrial communication products and systems.
- Test and verify sub-system and product-level performance
- Analyze product requirements and create product architecture and design specifications.
- Lead small-group or individual design process.
- Help in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules.
- Understand whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them.
- Implementation of feature requests, successfully merging the new design into the existing architecture.
- Provide technical assistance and documentation to other departments and customers.
- Resolution of problems reported from the field; including bug fixes, design corrections, and complex architectural modifications.
- Provide guidance to a small team of developers with either planning and execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM

Technical Skills (Required)

- Highly proficient in C & C++ programming.
- Highly proficient developing in a Linux development environment.




- Experience in embedded software development and revision control, such as git or subversion, on Linux.
- Experience in embedded software development utilizing real-time operating systems, such as embedded Linux & VxWorks.
- Proficient in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, SSH, HTTP, DHCP, and Ethernet bridging.

Technical Skills (Desired)

- Proficient with Static Web Technologies; HTTP[S], HTML, CSS.
- Proficient developing with agile web technologies such as JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, JSON-RPC.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development on products that were commercialized.

Eligibility Requirements

- Legal authorization to work in the Canada is required.
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Burnaby, BC
