Job Summary This leadership role oversees the efficient and safe operation of the Stores warehouse, distribution of materials, tools and supplies, while directing the daily throughput of the Stores team. Directs, trains, coordinates and schedules daily activities for Store Operators.

Maintains inventory tracking and control for materials, tools and supplies. Maintains best practices for stock organization, tool maintenance, material distribution and loss prevention. Organizational Status Reports to the Stores Manager. Directs work of Sub-Head Store Operators and Stores Operators within the unit. Work Performed Supervises, coordinates and schedules the daily activities of Store Operators tasked with; receiving, staging, distribution and control of materials, tools, equipment and supplies.

Oversees daily purchase order requisition activities within the unit,



liaises trades Heads, department Managers and vendors to ensure the correct material, tools, equipment and services are ordered in the correct quantity and within the requested time. Expedites purchase orders with suppliers where necessary and ensures follow-up to meet requested specifications and timelines* Participates in asset management which includes but is not limited to; documenting the intake of purchased tools materials and equipment into the asset management system. Ensures all available tool and equipment assets are maintained in a safe working condition Makes recommendations to maintain the lowest cost of ownership of tool and equipment assets for the entire department.

Manages fall protection annual inspections, pre-use rental inspections and other related compulsorily compliance inspection requirements.

Creates and schedules maintenance service activity for tools and equipment requiring regulatory compliance. Schedules other preventative maintenance activities in accordance with departmental policies.

Ensures regulatory compliance with regards to fuel management for UBC vehicles, as well as health and safety with transportation and handling of regulated materials.

Ensures that employees under their jurisdiction work in a correct and protected manner and in accordance with all current university safety standards, practices,



departmental policies and procedures.

Initiates day to day reconciliation events as needed and creates corrective action plans.

Minimum Qualifications Completion of post-secondary education in related field equivalent to the diploma level and a minimum seven years of related or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
