Overview
Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Hotel Maintenance Person, where your expertise will keep our property running smoothly and ensure an exceptional guest experience. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the hotel, troubleshooting issues promptly, and implementing repairs that uphold our high standards of safety, comfort, and functionality. Your proactive approach and technical skills will contribute to a welcoming environment that guests love to return to.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and building systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to facilities, including lighting, appliances, elevators, and structural components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule maintenance tasks, and document repairs.
- Conduct welding repairs and mechanical adjustments as needed to address equipment malfunctions or structural concerns.
- Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during projects or repairs requiring specialized skills or additional manpower.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards through regular safety checks and adherence to protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests related to facilities issues and ensuring minimal disruption to their stay.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations within a hospitality or manufacturing environment.
- Supervising experience is preferred,
demonstrating leadership in coordinating maintenance activities and managing teams or contractors.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC systems, plumbing, welding techniques, and general building mechanics.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial or building automation systems.
- Experience using CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
- JThe hotel maintenance team maintains the physical building and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role requires balancing daily emergency repairs with scheduled preventive maintenance while providing polite service to guests. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Fix leaking faucets, unclog drains, repair broken furniture, and service TVs or door locks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma or secondary school equivalent.
- Experience: One or more years of hands-on building maintenance or general repair experience.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and stand or move around for long shifts.
- Communication: Positive interpersonal skills to coordinate with housekeeping and front desk staff while respecting guest privacy.
