We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide hands-on, full-spectrum HR support at Caivan | ABIC. Working closely with the Manager, Human Resources, this role executes day-to-day operations across employee relations, onboarding, immigration compliance, WSIB and injury management, performance cycle execution, and HR reporting. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted point of contact who ensures consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

Necessary skills:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline considered an asset.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a Human Resources generalist or coordinator role.
- Solid understanding of Ontario employment standards, employment law, and HR best practices.
- High degree of integrity, tact, and discretion in handling confidential information,
along with sound judgment in complex or sensitive situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently across multiple priorities.
- CPHR designation, or actively working towards one.
- Experience administering an HRIS, with proficiency in HR technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support employee relations matters, including documentation of coaching conversations and progressive discipline, and assist with workplace investigations under the guidance of the HR Manager and legal counsel.
- Maintain and administer the HR App/HRIS: user profiles, employee data integrity, workflow configuration, reporting exports.
- Administer the onboarding and offboarding process end-to-end, including employment agreements, employment letters, and exit interviews.
- Administer immigration-related processes, including OINP employer portal administration and supporting documentation.
- Own and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with employment standards and best practices.
- Manage WSIB claims and injury reports from intake to closure, including Form 7 filings.
- Collaborate with Health and Safety and site management on return-to-work programs, developing modified duty offers that are specific, safe, and within medical restrictions.
- Maintain confidential injury and incident records, ensuring only functional abilities information is retained or shared.
- Support execution of the company-wide performance review cycle, including HR App administration, manager reminders, and tracking completion.
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting, providing regular updates and insights to the HR Manager on key trends and KPIs.
- Act as a point of contact for general employee inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager as needed.
- Support ad hoc HR projects and initiatives as assigned, including process improvements, policy rollouts, engagement surveys, and cross-functional collaboration.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, in-person, 44 hours per week 7:30am – 4:30pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Willing to travel to our office in the GTA on a regular basis.
- Extended periods at a computer may be required at times.
- The implies the performance of repetitive tasks.
- Hold a valid G license with access to a reliable vehicle.
